Meeting with former president Valdis Zatlers at Garden of Destiny

A conversation with Valdis Zatlers will take place at the Garden of Destiny.

On 25 November at 13.00, the former President of Latvia, distinguished physician, former Chairman of the Board of the Traumatology and Orthopaedics Hospital Valdis Zatlers will visit the Garden of Destiny Country House. Since 2011, when he initiated the referendum on the dissolution of the 10th Saeima, Valdis Zatlers was also the Chairman of the Zatlers Reform Party, which he founded, and a member of the 11th Saeima. Zatlers is also the patron of the Garden of Destiny.

Valdis Zatlers: 'What is the Garden of Destiny for me? It is our common destiny. It is important that such a place exists. It is a place that embodies everything that has happened, is happening and will happen to our nation. People need a place like this."

Valdis Zatlers is not only a former President and a favourite doctor of many patients. His biography is full of activities and responsibilities that confirm a strong, versatile and profound personality. He was once a basketball player and a drummer.

When the Freedom Monument, the symbol of our nation, was illuminated in Riga 4 years ago, it was the result of Valdis Zatlers' persistent work and ideas. Valdis Zatlers says: "The highest point is what we have now. It is the highest point. What I like to talk about most is today."

It should be noted that the series "Meetings with Personalities" at the Destiny Garden Meeting House allows people who have made a significant contribution to Latvian culture, politics, science and other fields to get to know each other in person. The event will take place in the framework of the series of talks.
