Cultural events at Christmas and New Year

The Christmas and New Year period is full of cultural events throughout the region, from concerts and theatre performances to markets and New Year's Eve parties. Take a look at the cultural events on offer - let's celebrate from the heart!   

• 21 December at 19.00 at the Culture Centre - musical performance for families "Grinch's Christmas". Tickets at the "Biļešu paradīze" box office and www.bilesuparadize.lv. 
• 28 December at 19.00 - Christmas concert "Starlight" at the Culture Centre. Performers: mixed choir "Aizkraukle", actress Zane Jančevska and composer Valdis Zilveris. Free entrance. 
• 29 December at 19.00 Christmas concert "Tev tuvumā" at the Aizkraukle Catholic Church. Aija Andrejeva, Marts Kristiāns Kalniņš, Jānis Šipkēvics, Jānis Aišpurs and other musicians. Tickets at the "Biļešu paradīze" box office and www.bilesuparadize.lv. 
• 31 December, 23.30 - New Year 2024 celebration with the legendary band "Menuets" at the city's central square. 

In Aiviekste parish:

• 28 December at 18.00 - New Year's Eve party at the Traditions Hall of Aiviekste parish. Free admission. 

Bebri parish:

• 23 December at 21.00 - Christmas party with the band "Liepavots" at the LSKC "Vecbebri" hall. Tickets 6 euros in advance and 8 euros on the day of the event. 

Daudzese parish:

• 26 December at 14.00 at the Meeting House - "Christmas Miracle" event for newborns in Daudzese. 

Irsi parish: 

• 30 Dec at 22.00 - Ball "Snowflakes in a Whirl" at the club (at the tables). Music by the band "Rolise". Tickets: €7 pre-sale, €9 day of event. 

In Jaunjelgava:

• 31 December at 22.00 in the cultural centre - New Year's Eve party with the band "Ivo Positivo" and singer Ivo Grīsniņš-Grīslis. Lucky well, fortune casting, dancing and dancing. Table party. Entrance fee - 15 euro, tickets available in advance at Jaunjelgava Tourism Information Point. 

Koknese:

• 21 December at 14.00 - Senior citizens' Christmas event "For one moment..." at the Culture Centre. Free entrance. 
• 26 December at 16.00 - Musical performance for children and parents "Murvaukšķu Christmas" at the Culture Centre. Free admission. 
• 1 January at 01.00 in the cultural centre - New Year's party with the band "Bat". Entrance fee - EUR 8. 

Klintaine parish:

• Until 29 December - Handicraft exhibition "Time of Miracles" at the Klintaine parish house "Kūlīši". 

Mazzalve parish:

• Until 31 December in the parish exhibition hall - exhibition "Waiting for Christmas". 
• 19 December at 14.00 Riga Cathedral School Choir concert at Ērberģe Manor. 
• 22 December at 11.00 - Christmas party for pre-school children of Mazzalve with the elves of "Čučumuižas" at Ērberģe Manor.  
• At 17.00 - Concert performance by the pupils of Mazzalves Primary School and a party with the association "Kalnā kāpu gavilēt". 
• 23 December at 11.00 - Christmas gathering of entrepreneurs of the Nereta Association at Ērberģe Manor. 
• 24 December at 15.00 Concert by the Mazzalves Vocal Ensemble "Christmas - a Time of Miracles" at the Ērberģe Church. 
• 30 December at 19.00 - New Year's Eve Concert Ball at Ērberģe Manor with festive treats for families by Ilze Odiņa. Entrance fee - 15 euros. 
• 1 January at 01.00 at the Ērberģe Sports Hall - New Year's Eve party with the band "5 Jāņi". Entrance fee - 5 euros. 

• 23 December at 9.00 in the cultural centre - Christmas market. 
• 25 December at 21.00 - Christmas party at the cultural centre. Entrance fee: 18 euros. 

In Plaviņas: 

• Until 23 December - Advent composition exhibition at the cultural centre. 
• 23 December, 9.00 - Christmas Fair at the Pļaviņas Green Market. 
• 23 December at 17.00 - Christmas concert "Glitter of festive joy" by amateur groups of the Pļaviņas Culture Centre. Free admission. 

Sece:

• 21 December at 12.00 - Christmas tree event at the Secė Primary School. 
• 27 December at 14.00 - Christmas tree event for senior citizens of the Jaunjelgava Association and all interested persons "A Little Wonder Lies in Every Christmas Tree". The lively trio "Anita & Jānis & Līga" and the Seces amateur theatre "Dūdenīši" will provide dance music and cosiness. Free entrance. Bring a basket.

• From 18 December at the cultural centre - exhibition "Winter is Coming" by students of the Skrīveri Music and Art School.  
• 18 December at 18.00 - Concert "Winter is Coming" by students of Skrīveri Music and Art School at the Culture Centre.

• From 31 December at 18.00 until 1 January at 01.00 in the Craftsmen's Park near the parish administration - festive illumination "New Year's Lights Games".
