"Home Café Days" in Vidusdaugava 2023

This year will mark the third season of "Home Café Days". It is organised by the Latvian Investment and Development Agency Tourism Department and the Latvian Rural Tourism Association "Lauku ceļotājs". During the campaign, farmyards, farmhouses and other places that are not connected with business and catering in everyday life are transformed into improvised cafés. For a fee, visitors can taste local food, get a great taste experience and enjoy an interesting cultural programme. Everyone is invited to visit the home cafés, enjoy their culinary offer and learn about local traditions.

Like last year, this year too, visitors will be welcomed in the territory of Aizkraukle District during the "Home Café Days" over two weekends.  On 22 and 23 July, Home Café Days will take place in and around Vidusdaugava: Skrīveri, Aizkraukle, Koknese and Pļaviņas. On 9 and 10 September, the Selija Home Café Days will take place with the participation of the Jaunjelgava and Nereta associations

Local people who are not involved in catering or tourism on a daily basis, but are willing to open their homes and entertain guests during these days, are invited to participate in the "Home Café Days". The event is also open to entrepreneurs who provide catering services on a daily basis. We look forward to meeting the participants of previous years' Home Café Days and enjoying their hospitality again! One participant can take part only once per season.

Participants of the "Home Café Days" will receive practical training on health and safety (PVD), marketing, communication with visitors, etc.  The organisers of the "Home Café Days" have set up a website www.majaskafejnicas.lv where information on each destination, its participants, menus and practical information will be available.
