Pļavinas Tourism Information point

The Tourism Information Point (TIP) is located in the Pļaviņas Cultural Centre, a building constructed in the 20th century. Dolomite from the banks of the Daugava River was used in the construction of the building, giving it a distinctive appearance.

At the Pļaviņas Tourism Information Point, visitors can explore the exhibition of the Pļaviņas Museum, which reveals the history of the town and its surroundings. The exhibition features stories and photographs of Bebruleja and Oliņkalns, the Daugava canyon before and after it was flooded, as well as impressive historical records – photographs of the largest floods in the history of Pļaviņas.

The Tourism Information Point offers souvenirs featuring traditional Pļaviņas patterns. Lovers of applied arts are also welcome to arrange a visit to the premises of the “Skanstupe” applied arts group, where they can see weaving and handicraft works and observe the creative process in person.
