Raimonds Pauls and Daumants Kalniņš in concert "Meeting in Daile"

On 7 May at 16.00 the Aizkraukle Culture Centre invites to the concert "Meeting in the Dail" by Raimonds Pauls and Daumants Kalnins as part of the series of events "Aizkraukle -55". In 1965 Raimonds Pauls played at the opening of the Aizkraukle House of Culture.

Raimonds Pauls has been surprising the visitors of the Daile House of Music for several seasons with newly created concerts, each time performed by different musicians. "RAIMOND PAUL and DAUMANT KALNIŅS. In collaboration with the conductor and artistic director of the orchestra Kaspars Ādamsons, the concert will feature a string chamber orchestra and a group of musicians led by Raimonds Macatas with Maestro Raimonds Pauls at the piano.

In the first part of the concert, Maestro Raimonds Pauls and Daumants Kalniņš will perform a new song cycle with lyrics by Inese Zander. The second part of the concert will feature a selection of songs by the Maestro and Daumants Kalniņš with lyrics by Latvian poets, a string chamber orchestra conducted by Kaspars Ādamsons, and an ensemble of accompanying musicians. Daumants Kalniņš describes the choice of songs for the concert programme. It's harder for a composer like Raimonds Paul. This concert is a real team effort."

The concert is in two parts, lasting 2 hours and 40 minutes.
