Three-span stone masonry vaulted bridge

A three-span stone vaulted bridge over the old bed of the river Veseta in the Aiviekste parish of the Pļaviņas municipality.The bridge is located on the old road Pļaviņas - Madona, at the mouth of the old Veseta in the Aiviekste.The bridge was built in 1925 of roughly hewn boulders, 19.60 m long, with three arched (3.7 m wide) openings. Such bridges are very rare in Latvia. There are very few arch bridges in Latvia. They testify to the craftsmanship of the ancient craftsmen and their sense of the surrounding environment.
