Adminu Great Rock

Located in Staburags Parish, this boulder is the 26th largest glacial erratic in Latvia and rests on the eastern slope of Ādmiņu Hill. The stone is unusually narrow, and its upper surface resembles a rectangle. Until the 20th century, the visible part of the boulder measured 3.9 m in height, 6.1 m in length, 2.5 m in width, with a volume of 32 m³.

The boulder has been repeatedly affected by human activity. In 1903, builders of the Jelgava-Krustpils railway line unsuccessfully attempted to break it into crushed stone. At the beginning of the 20th century, Midsummer celebrations were held on the hill, during which part of the boulder hidden in the slope was uncovered. In the late 1960s, it was further excavated using a bulldozer, and later by nature enthusiasts. Today, the boulder no longer lies embedded in the hillside, and the exposed portion has reached a height of 4.15 m.

The boulder is located at the edge of a field near the Ādmiņi homestead, at the foot of Ādmiņu Hill, approximately 250 m north of the Staburags railway stop.

It is a protected natural monument and a significant geological formation.
