Opening of the Selonia Tourism Season and Pentecost Celebrations

On 24 May, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Opening of the Selonia Tourism Season and the Pentecost Celebrations will take place at Vīgante Park in Staburags Parish. The event promises to be engaging and entertaining, offering a wide range of activities to suit diverse interests and tastes.

From 1:00 p.m.

• Festive opening and concert at the Vīgante Park open-air stage, featuring vocal ensembles, a folklore group, musical acts, and dance troupes.
• Holiday craft and farmers’ market, offering a wide selection of handmade goods and locally produced delicacies.
• Baking bread twists over an open fire – enjoy them with jam or honey! (Free of charge)
• Large-scale outdoor games provided by the association “Aktīvās atpūtas aģentūra”, including mini golf, ladder golf, cornhole, board games, and brain teasers. (Free of charge)
• Mini Zoo “Karlīna” – meet and observe small animals such as guinea pigs, goats, rabbits, and birds. (Free of charge)

From 2:00 p.m.

• Boat rides on the Daugava River aboard the vessel “Sēlis.” The first cruise departs at 2:00 p.m., followed by departures at 2:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m., with the final ride at 4:00 p.m. (Free of charge)
• Horseback riding in the park area offered by “Dzintaru Zirgi.” A pony will be available for younger visitors, while an adult horse will be offered for older participants. (Free of charge)

From 3:00 p.m.

• Guided tours of Vīgante Park. Tours will take place at 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Each tour lasts approximately 40 minutes. (Free of charge)

During the event, visitors will have access to the latest tourism information about Aizkraukle Municipality and the opportunity to try virtual reality headsets, offering immersive visits to 30 additional locations across the municipality.
