The history of the Neretā public bath goes back to the 20th century, when such establishments were widespread in Latvia. The Neretā public bath was built in 1953 and still operates today, giving both locals and visitors the chance to use basic hygiene services and enjoy the traditional sauna experience.

Bathhouses are considered important parts of the local community. They serve not only a hygienic function but also a social one, as people meet there, discuss local news, and spend time together.
