Vietalva House of Charity Memorial

At the bus stop "Miķelēni" is the site of the ruins of the former Vietalva Charity Society House. The Vietalva Singers' Society (later Vietalva Charity Society), founded in 1870, in the first 15 years of its activity held cultural and educational events in the church and parish school of Vietalva, in the premises of Vietalva and Odziena manors and parishes. The most prominent member of the Society was Juris Kalniņš or Prātkopis. In 1885, with the support of the local population, the Vietalva House of Charity was built - the first people's house in the Latvian countryside.
