New Tourism Information Boards in Selonia

We are pleased to inform that within the framework of two projects, new tourism information boards have been installed in the Selonia region of Aizkraukle Municipality, making it easier and more convenient to explore the area.

Within the “WaterTour” project, 5 new tourism information boards have been installed along the banks of two rivers in the Nereta area:

• at the confluence of the Dorupīte and the Mēmele River in Pilskalne Parish;
• at the recreation site “Pie Pūcītes” on the Suseja River in Nereta;
• near the Vanagi Bridge on the Suseja River in Pilskalne Parish;
• near the Sproģi suspension bridge on the Suseja River in Zalve Parish;
• near Ērberģe Manor on the Suseja River in Mazzalve Parish.

The information boards along the rivers are placed at locations where recreation areas and floating pontoons have already been created within the same project.

Within the “Weekend in Village” project, 6 tourism information boards have been installed in the territories of Jaunjelgava and Nereta:

• near the Staburags memorial site “Dieva auss” in Staburags Parish;
• at the Jaunjelgava promenade in Jaunjelgava;
• near the border of Bauska and Aizkraukle municipalities in Mazzalve Parish (along road P73);
• at the Strobuki hillfort in Pilskalne Parish;
• near the border of Jēkabpils and Aizkraukle municipalities in Nereta Parish (along road P73);
• near the Latvia–Lithuania border in Nereta Parish (along road P75).

The new boards will provide valuable information about nearby sites, routes, and natural features, helping both locals and visitors better explore the Selonia part of Aizkraukle Municipality.
