Odziena Manor Palace is one of the most impressive Neo-Gothic gems in Latvia. Its history dates back to 1455, with the first recorded name being “Odensee.” The current manor building was constructed in the mid-19th century by Rudolf Friedrich Adrian von Brimmer, who designed it in the Neo-Gothic style that continues to captivate visitors with its elegance and historical charm. However, during the 1905 uprising, the palace was devastated and never fully restored.
In the 1930s, parts of the manor were repurposed into apartments and event spaces, though some sections of the building remained unfinished. During the Soviet occupation, the palace continued to serve the local community—it became a center of public life, housing a cultural center, library, and apartments, and was a beloved gathering place for seasonal festivities and open-air dances. The manor’s restoration began only recently, when enthusiastic new owners, inspired by its historical legacy, launched an ambitious reconstruction project.
Today, the manor complex has been revitalized with renewed energy—a restored tavern with a guesthouse, a palace brewery, elegant banquet halls, a Soviet-era automobile and machinery collection, and a carefully landscaped territory. The newly renovated halls can host events for up to 200 guests. On the ground floor of the guesthouse "Krogusmāja," you'll find dining and event spaces, while the upper floor offers cozy rooms furnished with authentic 20th-century furniture. The manor is surrounded by ancient ponds with small islands and timeworn trees that give the place a special charm. A small stream flows from the palace pond, bubbling joyfully in springtime—just one of many natural highlights that make the manor a truly enchanting destination.
