Friendship Park

A park was created in the 1960s. Friendship Park has 42 species of trees. Arturs Grīvnieks (1912-2005) from Plaviņš put a lot of heart and energy into the creation of the park. In 1982, on his initiative, large boulders were erected in the park as memorials to "Swedish Skanste - Friendship Park" and to Janis Jaunsudrabiņš, who lived in Pļaviņas for many years. "We are all united by the grandeur and beauty of nature, the sun, the air, the earth and the water, which are ever renewing and regenerating".

The park has an open-air stage where Midsummer is celebrated every year and various open-air events take place during the summer.
