Skrīveri has two scenic nature trails by the picturesque Kalnamuiža Lake - the Happy Bear Trail and the Moss Trail. The lake was artificially created in the middle of the 19th century, according to the idea of the owner of Skrīveri Manor, dendrologist Max von Sivers. It served as a landscape ornament and water source for the estate. The landscape park around the lake, with lime alleys, terraces and staircases, was part of the aesthetically and functionally harmonious environment envisaged by Sivers. The Happy Bear Trail (~800 m), created in 2020, winds along the lakeshore on wooden footbridges and leads across two illuminated islets. A gazebo, picnic area, barbecue and viewing platform are located by the lake. The Moss Trail (~800 m), opened in 2017, brings to life Andrejs Upītis' ‘The Boys of Moss Village’ - figures and quotes from the story carved in wood guide the way along a forest path with a slight incline. The two routes are connected and suitable for families, couples and nature lovers, allowing them to enjoy cultural and natural heritage in one place.
