Enjoy Winter in Aizkraukle Municipality

January has arrived with a true winter fairytale!

A blanket of snow covers forests, meadows and hills, inviting everyone to enjoy an active and picturesque winter in the Pļaviņas area. The Pļaviņas Tourist Information Point invites you to go cross-country skiing, feel the adrenaline on downhill slopes, and experience the peaceful beauty of winter on horseback.

We encourage you to follow weather conditions and up-to-date information on social media regarding trail preparation and availability.

• Sports and Recreation Complex “Mežezers”

Blue ski slopes are currently prepared. Instructor services are available upon request. A tubing slope is open for younger winter fun enthusiasts. Equipment rental and a café are available on site.

Cottages and comfortable rooms for overnight stays are also offered.

• Sports and Recreation Complex “Mailes”

Several cross-country skiing trails with a total length of 14 km are prepared. While skiing, visitors can enjoy the scenic banks of the Veseta River and the forests of Vietalva. Ski rental and accommodation for longer stays are available.

• Sports Base “Jankas - Jaujas”

7 km of cross-country skiing trails are prepared. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, the trails are illuminated. Use of the trails is free of charge.
