Jaunjelgava county from the deck of a boat

Jaunjelgava county is proud to offer boat trips not only from Jaunjelgava to Skrīveri with the boat "Balta kaza", but also in the Vīgante Park in Staburags with the boat "Sēlis".

On May 17 at 11.00 the association "Daugavas abi krasti" will organise an event - "Water Tourism Season Opening Regatta of the boat “Balta kaza" 2025” - at the dock of the boat in Skrīveri bank. The event promises to be very interesting - rowing competitions with challenges on the land, a concert by the musical group "Tikai Tā", there will be a soup treat, coffee, prizes and medals.

If you want to take part in the regatta but don't have your own equipment and are a beginner, don't worry - the organisers will provide the equipment and rowing training! Of course, you are welcome to bring your own boat or SUP board, but please note that you will only be able to race with equipment provided by the organisers, so that all participants have an equal chance to win. Registration for the race starts at 10 o'clock in the morning.

At the end of the event, there will be a "People's Race" for professionals and everyone interested - both with their own equipment and with the organisers' boats!

Families with children are especially welcome to come and try out the new swings and other new features that will delight the little ones!

The evening will end with a ball, where Aivars Birzmalis and Artis Orubs will provide good music and mood.

The boat "Sēlis" opened its 2025 season on 18 April and offers 4 main excursion routes:

Route No.1 Vīgantes Park pier to Koknese - Vīgantes Park pier - duration 1,5 h

Route No. 2 Vīgantes Park pier - Zvejnieklīcis (in Sēlpils municipality) - Vīgante Park pier - duration 3h.  Disembarking after about 1h at the Zvejnieklīcis stage or in Liepkalni.

Route No.3 Vīgantes Park Pier - Koknese Castle Ruins or Garden of Destiny - Vīgantes Park Pier - duration 3h. Disembark after 1,2 hours at Koknese Castle Ruins or Garden of Destiny.

Route No. 4 Vīgantes Park piers - Pļaviņas - Vīgantes Park pier - duration 6h. Disembarkation after 1 hour in Zvejnieklīcis or Liepkalni.

Group excursions for up to 36 people are also possible, as well as weddings on board.

Other routes are also possible - for example, from Liepkalni around Oliņkalns and along the steep banks of Zvejnieklīcis - by prior contact and agreement.
