The final days of May are here – and almost unnoticed, we’ve arrived at the threshold of summer.

The long-awaited warmth, romantic sunsets, and the scent of hay in the meadows – these are just a few moments that inspire a love for summer. The Koknese Tourism Information Centre invites you to enjoy summer evening mood concerts in the beautiful Koknese medieval castle ruins! Under the open sky, surrounded by historic atmosphere, concertgoers will be able to immerse themselves in various melodies and the pulsating energy of music.

On June 6 at 8:00 PM, the castle ruins will host a concert program featuring Raimonds Pauls’ songs titled “Ziedošo dziesmu dārzs.” The concert will include well-known pieces such as “Mežrozīte,” “Rudens ogle,” “Atdziedi dvēsele,” melodies from films, as well as forgotten and rarely heard compositions.
Performers: Sabīne Krilova – vocals, Madara Kalniņa – piano, Egija Sproģe – flute, Elīza Petrenko – cello, Uģis Upenieks – percussion.

On June 21 at 8:00 PM, the traditional “Sunset at Solstice”/"Saulriets Saulgriežos  concert will take place at Koknese medieval castle ruins. This year’s solstice will be filled with music from the program “The Heart of My Land,”/ "Manas zemes sirds" a cherished collaboration between Antra Stafecka and Ingars Viļums. Their partnership has been met with great success and audience acclaim. “The songs combine a deeply emotional message and Latvian traditions, revealing the unity of people and nature, the flow of time, and eternal values that transcend the fast pace of everyday life,” explains Antra Stafecka.

On July 18 at 10:00 PM, as part of Koknese City Festival, the ruins will echo with the rock music show “Rock Symphony.” Visitors will enjoy classical music in rock interpretations, flamenco, and works by Latvian composers. An impressive light show will be created by lighting master Egils Kupčs. Performers include drummers Guntars Lintiņš and Edijs Šimiņš, guitarist Ēriks Upenieks, flamenco dancer Anna Keita Kreicšteina, and singer Juris Vizbulis.

On August 22 at 8:00 PM, everyone is invited to the season’s closing concert program “2 Raimonds.” Violinist Raimonds Ozols’ musical journey encompasses various styles and genres. His closest stage companion for many years has been Raimonds Macats, whose musical path also began in classical music. Together, the two Raimonds will create a wonderful atmosphere and soundscape.
