On 8 September, the Apples at The Garden of Destiny will celebrate the Apple Ball.

On Sunday, 8 September, from 11.00 to 15.00, the traditional Apple Ball will take place in The Garden of Destiny. Families - big and small - are invited to join together to work, enjoy and celebrate the arrival of the autumn season in The Garden of Destiny.

As every year, everything will start with apple picking. This year's apple harvest has been mighty and the hands of the pickers will be very useful.

Once the apples have been picked and the apple juice has been squeezed, apple jam made and delicious pancakes baked to enjoy with the apple jam, the volunteers will have the opportunity to play various large-scale games, go on an apple expedition around the Garden of Destiny and create their own special autumn mandala out of natural materials. The three most beautiful mandalas will receive incentive prizes from Skrīveru saldumi, a partner of the Destiny Garden.

As always, the tasting is free of charge, but if anyone would like to take the vitamin-rich drink with them, it will be available in 300ml packs.

Like the juice, jars of jam will also be available to buy to remind you of the bountiful autumn during the dark winter months.

Autumn is a particularly active time and this is also the case in the Garden of Destiny. We invite everyone to experience the joy of being and working together!

The Garden of Destiny's apple tree avenue was created in 2008 and is home to popular Latvian apple varieties - Cukuriņš, Baltais dzidrais, Sīpoliņš, Rīgas rožābele, Auksis, Konfetnaja and others.

As more and more fruit appeared on the branches of the planted apple trees, it was clear that the small team of the Destiny Garden would find it difficult to manage the apple harvest on their own. The idea of organising a clean-up was born. This year, the Apple Ball or Apple Clean-up will take place for the ninth year in a row.

The event is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Skrīveru Saldumi, Elektrum, Draugiem.lv, Latvijas valsts meži, LZF, Skauti un gaidas.

Entrance to the event is by donation. Parking fee -2,5 euro.
