International Tourism Exhibition “Balttour 2026” Has Concluded

From 6 to 8 February, the Tourism Department of Aizkraukle Municipality participated in the international tourism exhibition–fair "Balttour 2026”.

Together with our great colleagues from Bauska, Dobele, Jelgava and Jēkabpils municipalities, we welcomed visitors at the joint stand “Zemgale Invites!”, introducing them to the tourism offer of Aizkraukle Municipality.

What are the tourism gems of your region? Which are the most impressive sights, the most engaging workshops, the most hospitable hosts, the most spacious accommodations or the most unusual flavours? We know the answers to these questions!

At the exhibition, we presented the latest informational materials and travel routes, the annual plan of major events, and also offered visitors a unique opportunity to virtually travel to Aizkraukle Municipality using virtual reality headsets and explore 30 tourism sites across the region. Isn’t it surprising to be in the Ķīpsala Exhibition Hall while, in virtual reality, enjoying the calm expanses of the Daugava River near the Aizkraukle hillfort or the ancient valleys of the Daugava and Pērse rivers by the medieval ruins of Koknese Castle?

These were three truly exciting, engaging and fulfilling days, highlighting the importance of cooperation and togetherness in the tourism sector. We are grateful for the meetings with colleagues, inspiring conversations, and the great interest and responsiveness of visitors — thank you, and see you in Aizkraukle Municipality!
