Enjoy the views from the boat deck near Jaunjelgava and Staburags

Autumn is the best time to capture the autumn colors reflected in the waters of the Daugava River! Wonderful opportunities and special offers to explore the banks of the Daugava River on the Jaunjelgava side with the boat "Balta kaza" and on the Staburaga side with the boat "Sēlis"!

The Water Tourism Center and the Balta Kaza boat in Skrīveri offer educational excursions along a nature trail. These are suitable for children in grades 1-6 and last 1.5 hours. They offer:

• 20-25 minute boat trip, observing changes in nature on the banks of the Daugava River;

• Stories about the trees, fish, plants, and birds in the area, and viewing them in pictures and in nature;

• Demonstrations of knot tying;

• Excursion along a nature trail with various obstacles (walking on a moving log, crawling through a tree hollow, balance beam, wide stairs, walking on a rope, fear hole).

• Picnic and campfire site after the excursion.

The tours are led by Jānis, captain of the Baltā Kazas. The price for students is €5, and accompanying persons (teachers, parents) are free of charge. Tours must be booked in advance!

The boat "Sēlis" offers a special end-of-season trip on October 19 at 1:00 p.m. The trip will take you from Vīgantes Park in Staburags Parish to Oliņkalns! The offer includes:

• 2.5-hour trip on the Daugava River, enjoying the colors of autumn

• The opportunity to see the steep banks of the Daugava River

• Stops in Zvejnieklīcis and Oliņkalns
